Weather Blog: Tropical Storm Ernesto Likely to Become a Hurricane

Ernesto roles over  the Windward Islands with minimal damage to St Lucia and nearby Barbados. Now the storm will move across some very warm Caribbean waters giving it a boast towards Hurricane status late Sunday or early Monday morning.

Latest reliable hurricane models push Ernesto towards a more Southerly solution into the Yucatan or Belize around the middle of next week. However there still remains a wide margin of uncertainty at the 5 to 7 day time frame. One model, the GFDL has a more Northerly track so stay connected to KHOU.com's Hurricane central and KHOU's facebook and twitter sites all weekend.
