Month after month of above normal rainfall continues to show big changes in the drought index week after week. This week being no exception with more counties now even out West of the metro Houston area showing improvement. As of April 12Th all of Harris, Liberty, Chambers and Galveston counties have returned to normal.
For April thought Houston is currently only showing less than quarter inch of rainfall for the entire month of April. We are currently an inch below normal for this time of the year. A typical April in Houston sees over 3.2 inches on average, so we have a lot of catching up to do. By the end of the weekend and on Monday morning Houston has the potential to return to April normals.
