It was nice while it lasted. The last four days in Houston where in the mid 70s. By Noon today Brrrrrr, the readings had dropped all the way to 35 degrees. Temperature drops of over 40 degrees where noted all across southeast Texas within the last 24hrs.
A hard freeze warning is out for the entire viewing area tonight. Chances are we're going to see cold upper 20s even down on Galveston Island tonight and Wednesday night. Houston will see low to upper 20s overnight through at least Friday morning. Cities like Brenham, Columbus, Conroe, El Campo, and Liberty could slip even lower into the teens.
Did we mention the wind chills ? Wind chill readings for the inland western portions of our viewing will likely be in the single digits. The wind advisory has been extended until Wednesday morning for the Houston/Galveston area.
The odds for snow Thursday night and Friday morning continue to increase with each model run. The best early estimates are that snowfall could be greatest inland with 1" to 3" possible for Houston. A rain/snow mix is likely even down on the coast with lows Friday morning in Galveston of 32 degrees. Houston . . . are you shivering yet ?
