I'm really getting concerned that the snow forecast for Thursday evening through Friday will be enough to shut down travel across Houston and southeast Texas. The last heavy snowfalls (Dec 2009 and 2004) occurred with temps just near freezing and only the bridges and overpasses iced up.
This time, temps have been cold enough, long enough to freeze the ground so everything that falls will stick and may cause even the surface roads to ice up quickly. I expect school will be canceled for Friday and many businesses will not open as well if the snow falls as predicted.
