Parts of southeast Texas where in the deep freeze this morning. Even Galveston saw numbers down into the 20s. These are the coldest readings since January of 1996.

Some parts of the state recorded even colder numbers. The low in San Angelo was 10 degrees, a new record  that goes back to 1967.  Waco's numbers where down to 8 degrees also a new record that stood since way back in 1913. Now that's really cold for any Texas city !  South Texas farmers and ranchers are also watching the thermometer.

The Rio Grande valley also saw a hard freeze for the first time this winter. Harlingen recorded a record of 25 degrees Saturday morning. Whats ahead are two more frosty nights for the state. After Monday gulf breezes are back to thaw out the state's residents again.

Look for another hard freeze tonight locally with teens from Madisonville to Conroe.

The Houston metro area will see 20 - 25 degrees and the coastal areas near Galveston should be near 32 degrees.
