Rain Kicks Off the Weekend

Nearly a week ago we woke up to a winter wonderland with a few inches
of snow on the ground for many of us. This Friday Mother Nature has a soggier
idea in mind. A steady flow of Pacific and gulf moisture could make for a wet
afternoon commute. The day will start off with fog, drizzle and a stiff North
East breeze. After midday the rain may become steadier with as much as
a quarter to a third of an inch of rain possible for most of the viewing area. If your
in Galveston or along the Bolivar peninsula  watch for coastal flooding near high
tide. The slow moving low in the Western Gulf will keep the rain flowing until
Saturday morning with slow improvement by late Saturday afternoon. If you’re a fan
of Texans football, Sunday could be a tailgater’s paradise with temperatures
expected to rise into the low 70s. The Texans may just have to pop the top and let
the sun shine in at Reliant stadium. Go Texans!
