Houston started out Sunday morning with more teens and twenties. January sunshine pulled our reading into a more comfortable zone by the afternoon. Another very cold night with light winds and clear skies should bring in another round of mid 20s Monday morning. The good news is more sunshine and easterly wind flow will warm us up to the mid 50s by the afternoon. The southern branch of the jet stream reigns in a new storm by Thursday. The low tracks along the coast through Saturday and pulls in a much cooler air mass for the weekend. As a result the weekend cools off but only within ten degrees of normal temperatures. The drop in temperatures is more typical for this time of the year.
