A few coastal showers may pop up near Freeport or Galveston Monday, but most of the rain will be offshore Monday. On shore breezes will finally help warm up the Houston area. Due to limited moisture availability the chances for showers will not increase significantly until mid week. Between Wednesday and Thursday a vigorous upper level trough pushes through Texas. Rain chances really crank up by then with temperatures finally warming up to near our average by the end of the week.
The South Texas Rio Grand valley and the coastal areas will have the best chance of rain this week with a moist upper level southwesterly flow keeping the valley wet Monday through Thursday.
