Its getting very cold, very quickly behind the arctic cold front which is pushing into our northwest counties now.  Temps dropped from about 45 to 33 in College Station as the front passed and temps there are dropping into the 20's.

Brenham is now in the upper 20's and by noon I expect most of southeast Texas will be falling through the 30's and into he 20's by early afternoon.  Dallas has light snow now and Waco is reporting freezing rain.

Travel from Houston to Austin, Dallas and San Antonio is becoming hazardous on bridges and overpasses now as what rain fell overnight  to the northwest of Houston is re-freezing on the bridges causing patchy ice to form.  Austin is reporting ice beginning to form on these exposed surfaces now.

In the immediate Houston area now, it is all rain and above freezing.  After about 1-2:pm temps in Houston will drop below freezing (maybe even a bit earlier than this) and then whatever falls will come down as sleet or freezing rain.  What freezing precip we get should be very light. However, with temps falling into the 20's this afternoon, leftover puddles and wet spots on Houston's bridges and overpasses could freeze up causing patchy ice and very dangerous driving conditions.
