A blue moon will make a rare appearance on December 31, 2009. This is the first
time in almost twenty years there's going to be a Blue Moon on New Years Eve.
Most months only have one full moon, but this month the 28 to 31 day lunar cycle
lines up for two full moons on the same month. The first full moon appeared on Dec
2ND: the second will appear on Dec 31st. The chances of seeing the blue moon which really
won't be blue in color are good since skies should be almost clear. If your having a party
tell your guest to ring in the new year with a little moon light and glass of champagne.
