A run of mid 90 degree temperatures is possible next week as a significant
ridge of high pressure slowly builds into the region through the middle part of next
week. The temperatures could top out in the mid 90s for a few days, with the heat
index between 100 - 105, as humidity returns by the end of the weekend.
As the tropics heat up we will also be monitoring a tropical wave. Some of our long range models indicate a wave developing in the west-central carribean next week. It
is still too early to tell with a any degree of certainty if this will occur, but it bears
watching.
