No relief from the heat or the drought of the last few days. Recent long range models continue to extend the above normal temperatures of the last week into the middle of next week. The temperatures at Bush have been at or above 95 degrees since Tuesday June 9th. This weekend Houston recorded its hottest weekend of the year so far, with temperatures in the upper 90s and heat index values above 100 degrees. As moisture levels continue to dwindle the heat may intensify by this weekend with upper 90s to continue. That along with a growing ridge of high pressure may block any hopes of breaking this long hot-dry weather pattern any time soon.
