zzzHeatAdvisoryAug7.JPG Another heat advisory leads the weekend forecast. The temperatures have been above average the first week of the hottest summer on record. With such a warm start could there be some relief ? zzzUpperHighAug7.JPG QPF_3DAY_AUG7.JPG

A high pressure region currently over the state will start to shift Easterly by the weekend. A possble break in the heat could follow, if we are able to tap into the Gulf of Mexico for some rain. It may not be a drought breaker but temperatures will drop from the near 100s. Rainfall will tend to be greatest near the coast and along the central gulf coast states. Hopefully, the Houston Galveston area will be able to tap into this valuable resource before it dries up the middle part of next week. By then the ridge of high pressure builds back in and near 100s return yet again.
