Plenty of lightning and rain Friday evening. Thanks to David Kobrin, a fellow KHOU employee in Pearland who captured
some great lightning pictures we'd like to share with you.
The skies over Southeast Texas were lighting up thanks to mother nature. Some parts of town also saw somre brief street flooding. Rainfall amounts varied greatly but the Aldine and
Deerpark areas saw over two inches of rain with Fort Bend county seeing overall amounts
between .50" - 1.00" of much needed rain to kick off the weekend. Today a weak front stalled just North of Houston combined with warm unstable air could mean more showers late in the afternoon thru early evening. Like Friday the main threat are pockets of heavy rain with some small hail and gusty downdrafts winds from these supercells. The light show will be back so have your cameras ready. Please upload your photos to the KHOU web site on the
viewer photo tab. Who nows it may show up on the nightly newscast here on eleven !
