zzzInvect92L.JPG A well developed tropical disturbance could be on its way to becoming a tropical storm. Hurricane hunters are in a search and identify mode in the latest organized cloud formation east of the Bahamas. The hurricane hunters have not found a closed circulation center. An upper low is interacting with the wave and this is forcing cooler drier air into the tropical disturbance. This system has an excellent chance of forming if the low weakens within the next couple of days. Favorable atmospheric conditions and a warm marine environment should aide in development. After that an upper trough will add shear and redirect the system away from the east coast. Fortunately for the Gulf coast the hurricane models are indicating the track is much like Bill's. The storm is set to drift NW for the next few days and then turn NE like Bill. Keep an eye on the tropics and on Channel 11.
