A daylight survey of Galveston by the weather service revealed more damage than usual for a common summer time waterspout. After surveying the 100 foot wide path of intermittent damage along one third of a mile, the weather service concluded it was an EF1 tornado on the enhanced fujita scale. The stairway is all that's left of a home on stilts that was pushed over by the 80 to 90 mph force of the winds last night. What Ike didn't destroy almost a year ago the tornado finished.

On Seawall Blvd. the dolphin souvenir shop loosed most of its roof with fiberglass insulation blown onto some of its merchandise.
