BAYTOWN, Texas—A suspect is now in custody after a five-hour SWAT standoff that started early Wednesday. It happened on Lee Drive near Riggs in Baytown.
Harris County deputies and Baytown police officers attempted to serve a warrant on the suspect for aggravated robbery around 7 a.m.
The suspect noticed the officers approaching and barricaded himself inside his home. He ordered them to back off and said he had a loaded gun, according to law enforcement.
SWAT was then called to the scene.
A woman, believed to be a relative of the suspect, was also inside the home.
Shortly before noon, the man and woman exited the home and were taken into custody without incident.
