Sugar Land, Texas– Sugar Land police are looking for a man who attempted to rob a family at gunpoint before attacking another man across the street on March 22.

Police said an 18-year-old man and his 52-year-old father entered their house in the 2000 block of Magnolia Crest Lane shortly after 11 p.m. and immediately heard someone trying to follow them through a locked front door. The men said they had just arrived home from a business in Houston, stopping on the way at a check cashing store in Stafford.

When the residents refused to open the door, the man walked across the street to the 2000 Block of Calico Hill Lane, approached a 22-year-old man talking on a phone in his car, displayed a handgun and demanded money. A struggle occurred, but the 22-year-old was able to escape and run inside his house.

The suspect removed property from the car, then left in a four-door, dark grey 2003-2004 Pontiac Grand Am with an accomplice inside.

Witnesses said the suspect was 6-feet tall with a medium build. He was wearing a dark-colored, striped hoodie sweatshirt and striped shorts.

Anyone with information should call the Sugar Land Police Department at (281) 275-2540 or Fort Bend County Crime Stoppers at (281) 342-TIPS (8477).
