HOUSTON – Harris County Sheriff’s Office investigators are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating a person of interest wanted for questioning in last year’s shooting death of a 28-year-old man.
Officials say Coty Beavers was shot to death at his northwest Harris County apartment on Nov. 12, 2012.
Eyewitness provided details to a sketch artist of the man who was seen asking about Beavers at the Legacy Park Apartments, 10801 Legacy Park Drive, a few days before Beavers was shot multiple times at the complex.
The sketch shows a man with dark hair and thick dark eyebrows, wearing eyeglasses.
Anyone with information about the subject should call the Sheriff’s Office Homicide Division at 713-967-5810 or Crime Stoppers of Houston at 713-222-TIPS.
Beavers was the twin brother of Cory Beavers, who had been the boyfriend of Gelareh Bagherzadeh.
The 30-year-old was shot to death while driving to her townhouse in the Galleria area, reportedly after visiting Cory Beavers. Bagherzadeh was an outspoken critic of the government of Iran, where she was born.
Her killing is being investigated by the Houston Police Department.
There are still no suspects in her murder case. Investigators have not said whether the homicides are connected.
