HOUSTON – A couple of Houston-area banks were robbed Monday afternoon.
The first robbery happened around 12:20 p.m. at the Wachovia Bank at 4501 Kingwood Drive.
Police say the suspect showed the teller a note saying he had a grenade. Witnesses said it looked more like a smoke bomb.
The suspect got away with an unknown amount of cash.
The second robbery happened around 2 p.m. at the Woodforest Bank inside a Kroger in the 18000 block of FM 529. That's in northwest Harris County.
No other details have been released.
