RICHMOND, Texas—The Richmond Police Department is asking the public for help with any information regarding a robbery which occurred at a store on Saturday.

It happened at the J.B. Mart #1, located at 1706 FM 1640, according to police.

Police said the suspect entered the store at 10:42 p.m., then went straight to the register and pointed a gun at the cashier, demanding money. But the clerk managed to secure himself in the register area and did not give up any cash.

The would-be robber then left empty-handed and fled the scene on foot, traveling west through the Lamar Park Apartments located next to the store.

The suspect is said to be about 6 feet tall and weighs about 300 pounds. He was wearing black pants, a long-sleeve grey or black shirt and had a red bandana covering his face. He was wearing a stocking cap on his head.
