Reward offered for capture of suspect who shot, killed grandfather in Harris County

HOUSTON—Crime Stoppers and investigators with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office are trying to determine who shot and killed a grandfather on November 7, 2012.

Precinct 4 deputy constables said Maglorio Reynaldo Cortes was taking his daily walk in the 11100 block of Springsong Drive around 6 p.m. when someone shot him.

First responders found Cortes unconscious in the middle of the roadway when they arrived. He was rushed to a local hospital, where he was later died.

Witnesses saw a 2010-2011 dark red or maroon four-door Chevy Cruz leaving the scene.

Anyone with information about the identity of the suspect(s) is asked to contact Crime Stoppers of Houston at (713) 222-TIPS (8477).

Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for any information called in to the 713-222-TIPS (8477) or submitted online that leads to the filing of felony charges or arrest of the suspect(s) in this case.
