HOUSTON – A 19-year-old Houston man accused of abducting a woman outside of a local gym and sexually assaulting her at a motel was behind bars Tuesday.
Robert Lauderdale Jr., is charged with aggravated sexual assault and was being held on $50,000 bond.
According to court documents, he approached the victim as she was sitting in her car outside the Fitness Connection at Greens Road and the North Freeway on November 14, 2011.
The victim said Lauderdale pulled out a gun and forced her into the passenger side of her car.
She said Lauderdale got in the driver’s seat and drove them to the Knights Inn, where he forced her into a second-floor room.
The victim said Lauderdale raped her in the room, then drove her to a nearby subdivision.
She said he threatened to kill her if she told anyone about the assault, then got out of the car and walked away.
Investigators said the victim was able to identify Lauderdale as the man who raped her when presented with a photo lineup.
Charges were filed against Lauderdale on November 19, 2011.
