Police: Woman robbed at gunpoint in downtown Richmond

HOUSTON – An armed man robbed a woman of her purse Tuesday afternoon in downtown Richmond, police said.

The woman and her husband were leaving a restaurant  at about  1 p.m. when the crime happened in the 100 block of South 4th Street.

The husband had already gotten into the vehicle when the woman was approached by a man who demanded her purse.  The man pointed what was described as a black semi-automatic pistol at the woman as he demanded her purse, police said.  After the woman gave the man her purse, he ran westbound on Calhoun Street. 

The victim was not injured during the incident and did not follow the man.
