LEAGUE CITY, Texas – Police are asking the public’s help in finding two suspects responsible for a series of Walmart thefts throughout the Houston area.
Police said they responded January 13 to a theft at the League City Walmart around 7 p.m. and determined the same two suspects used identical tactics to steal money from the registers at other local Walmart locations.
Security officers said during the thefts, the suspects perform a series of transactions to make change, confusing the clerk into giving more money than should have been provided.
Video surveillance obtained of the thefts showed a large male - approximately 400 pounds - with a full beard using the tactics to steal over $1,000 in cash. Shortly after he left the store, the second suspect approached a different register and repeated the scheme, leaving with over $350 in cash.
Police said both suspects fled the scene in a tan four-door sedan.
Anyone with information in the case is asked to call Det. Weems at 281-338-4182.
