HOUSTON –- Houston police are asking the public for help in identifying the driver who struck a pedestrian on the Gulf Freeway frontage road and then sped away.
According to the Houston Police Department, the incident happened south of Griggs Road around 6:40 a.m. on Saturday, May 25.
The male victim, 45, was sent to Ben Taub General Hospital in critical condition, and doctors pronounced him dead on June 10. His identity was not released.
Police said an officer found the victim lying in the street, but the person who hit him had already fled the scene.
