HOUSTON – A local pharmacist was arrested last week and charged with delivery of a controlled substance.
Bright Wokocha, a licensed and registered pharmacist who worked at the Richmond Professional Pharmacy in the 1600 block of Main Street, was arrested in Fort Bend County on April 20.
Police said an undercover officer was able to get several LorTab and Xanax pills illegally from Wokocha. They said the pills were delivered in unmarked vials in a cardboard box.
Upon Wokocha’s arrest, officers seized a large amount of money, which investigators said will be withheld pending forfeiture proceedings in Fort Bend County.
Investigators said Wokocha surrendered his DEA and DPS controlled substance registration numbers for the Richmond Professional Pharmacy and another pharmacy he owns in Rosenberg.
He also surrendered his personal Texas State Board of Pharmacy license number.
Wokocha was taken to the Fort Bend County Jail, where he was released on $20,000 bond.
