KINGWOOD, Texas -- Authorities continue to investigate after a jogger was attacked while running on Kingwood’s popular Greenbelt Trails.
It happened Saturday in the Trailwood Village Subdivision near River Falls Drive around 10:30 a.m.
The 36-year old victim says she was finishing up her morning run when a man came from behind her and knocked her to the ground.
The woman says she was head butted and body slammed. Then the attacker started grabbing and scratching at her arm.
The victim closed her eyes and fought back.
She said something must have spooked the man because he quickly dropped her arm and ran off.
The victim, who was listening to her iPod, never saw the suspect coming and believes he was hiding in the bushes.
Neighbors are still shaken by the news of an attack on the popular trails.
“I have a daughter in middle school,” said Kasey Black. “She likes to ride her bike on late arrival day and her coming through here by herself, absolutely not. Not after that.”
The woman filed a police report, but HPD has little evidence to go on. The man is described as in his late 30s and the victim remembers him wearing a white T-shirt and a baseball cap.
Anyone with information on the case is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
