HOUSTON – A 23-year-old man pleaded guilty to sending a bomb threat to the University of St. Thomas, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Cody Matthew Tackett admitted he sent an email with the bomb threat to school officials on Nov. 20 stating that there was a bomb on the campus.

U.S. District Judge Ewing Werlein Jr., who accepted the plea, has permitted Tackett to remain on bond pending sentencing, scheduled for June 20. At that time, he faces up to 10 years in federal prison and a possible $250,000 fine.
