HOUSTON -- A Houston man has been charged with murder after killing the brother of a former acquaintance, authorities say.
According to court documents, Levester Jones was seriously injured by an acquaintance in 2005.
Jones wanted revenge, police say, but he could not get it because his attacker was in a Louisiana prison.
However, authorities say after being relocated to Houston from Louisiana during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, Jones found the brother of his attacker, who he shot and killed.
Police say the case went unsolved until earlier this year when a Houston Police Department cold case detective traced the motive back to Louisiana.
