HOUSTON – A Houston man is facing charges after investigators say he beat up his 75-year-old mother.
According to court documents, it happened on March 13, 2012, at Joseph Leviege’s Houston home.
Leviege’s brother, who lives with the victim, told investigators that he dropped her off at Leviege’s home on March 12.
When he picked her up the next day, he said he found her lying on the floor, bleeding.
His wife told police that the victim’s eyes were swollen shut.
They took her to the hospital, where she reportedly said, "All I asked for was a glass of water, and he beat me like a man."
The victim’s granddaughter also told police that the victim said Leviege assaulted her.
Charges of injury to an elderly person were filed against Leviege on March 20.
