HOUSTON (AP) -- Increased anti-gang efforts in the Houston area will include cash for tips as part of the Crime Stoppers program.
Law enforcement agencies on Wednesday announced 35 fugitives featured on billboards and at stophoustongangs.org have been caught since the website went public in September 2010. The FBI says about 1,700 tips have led to an estimated 600 related arrests.
An enhanced partnership with Crime Stoppers of Houston will reward tipsters. Crime Stoppers of Houston will pay up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and charging of any felony suspects.
