HOUSTON –Three men are accused of carjacking a man and then using his vehicle in a bank robbery in Bryan, Texas.
Police said it all began at about 9:20 a.m. in the 4100 block of Oaklawn where three men assaulted a man and robbed him of his vehicle, a 2001 white Ford Taurus.
The victim was treated for minor injuries at a hospital and then released.
Then at 10:52 a.m., the same three men are suspected in the robbery of the Commerce National Bank, located at 3020 E. 29th Street.
Investigators said two men entered the bank, displayed firearms, and demanded money, before fleeing the area in the stolen vehicle. The robbers got away with an undisclosed amount of money, police said.
A third man is suspected to have assisted by driving one of the getaway vehicles. The stolen vehicle was abandoned and recovered by police at the Grove Apartments located at 3130 E. 29th Street.
No one was physically hurt during the bank robbery.
