Crime Blog: Crime Stoppers offers reward in 2008 cold case

HOUSTON—Crime Stoppers and HPD Homicide Investigators are asking for the public’s help in solving the August 24, 2008 homicide of 24-year-old Simone McNair.
McNair was standing on the balcony of her apartment at 10910 Gulf Freeway, talking on her phone around 1:40 a.m. when an unidentified man approached her and shot her with a handgun, according to police. Witnesses heard McNair and the suspect arguing as he went through her pockets. The suspect then shot McNair in the head, killing her before leaving with all her belongings, including her cell phone.
The suspect was said to be at least 5’7” tall and weighed 165-175 pounds. He wore a black long-sleeved hoodie, long blue jean shorts, and black tennis shoes. The suspect shot at one of the witnesses as he fled the scene.
