BAYTOWN, Texas—A tattoo artist was shot in the shoulder at a Baytown apartment complex late Wednesday night, and police on Thursday were still searching for suspects.
It happened just before midnight at a complex in the 4600 block of Village Lane.
Officers arrived to find Gary Spartley, 42, with what appeared to be a single gunshot wound to the shoulder.
Spartley told police he was at the complete to complete a tattoo for a client, but when he arrived, he was shot and robbed by two men.
Spartley said he didn’t get a good look at his assailants, but they managed to get away with about $8,000 worth of tattoo equipment.
At least one of the suspects is believed to have fled the scene in a white Ford Crown Victoria, police said.
