HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – Authorities are asking for help identifying a suspect in a June road-rage incident that escalated into an assault.
The incident happened around 6:30 p.m. June 5 near the intersection of West FM 1960 and Aldine Westfield.
According to authorities, a man and his 9-year-old son were traveling down West FM 1960 when the man’s car stalled. The suspect, who was in a truck behind the victim, became agitated when the victim’s vehicle did not move quick enough.
Deputies said once the victim’s car started, the suspect sped up and cut him off. The victim said he was concerned about the suspect’s actions so he pulled into the Whataburger parking lot in the 2600 block of West FM 1960.
Authorities said the suspect followed the victim into the parking lot, got out of the car, and approached him. He pulled out a knife and slashed the victim across his right arm and stomach, causing serious injuries. The suspect fled the scene and the victim was taken to Hermann hospital.
Deputies describe the suspect as a 30 to 40 year old man and around 5 feet 5 inches. He has red hair and a goatee and was driving a dark blue pickup truck at the time of the incident.
Anyone with any information in the case is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-8477. A reward up to $5,000 will be given for information leading to an arrest.
