HOUSTON -- A Houston man was arrested Friday on accusations that he’d been harassing a witness stemming from a previous assault charge.
Police said Nicklaus Franklin was charged with assaulting a woman on April 11.
That same day authorities said Franklin’s parents approached the victim’s mother as she was walking to a store in the 6305 block of Jensen. The parents told the mother they’d pay her daughter $500 to drop the charges. Police said the mother said no to the bribe and continued walking.
Authorities said a day later the victim was contacted by her brother, who told her Franklin and six others had surrounded him outside the same corner store.
According to court documents, during the incident Franklin told the brother, "If your sister don’t drop them charges she gone have consequences and repercussions."
Franklin then told the victim’s brother not to be seen walking in the area or he’d get beaten up.
Police said Franklin was in custody on $2,000 bond.
