HOUSTON—Crime Stoppers and HPD Homicide investigators are asking for the public’s help solving a cold case murder.
Esequiel Barrientos Jr. was shot to death in a shopping center parking lot in the 5200 block of Telephone Road on August 12, 2003.
Barrientos had been at the El Gallo De Oro bar with his coworkers earlier in the evening. Police say the coworkers left the bar around midnight, but Barrientos stayed until closing at 2:50 a.m.
Barrientos had loaned his car to a friend and was walking home when he was killed, likely around 3 a.m., police said.
His body was found by a Metro bus driver a few hours later.
