HOUSTON – Investigators with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Cold Case Unit are asking for the public’s help solving a murder from 1977.

Connie Sue Madvig, 18, was found stabbed to death in a wooded area near Aldine Westfield and East Cypreswood in Spring on June 27, 1977.

She was last seen alive on June 23, 1977, walking to a store after leaving her parents’ home in the 23900 block of Spring Briar Lane.

Investigators were unable to make an arrest, and the case went cold.

Her family has since moved out of state.

Anyone with information on Madvig’s murder is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-8477 or the HCSO Cold Case Unit at 713-967-5911.

Connie Madvig’s murder is one of several cold cases that the HCSO is featuring every week in hopes of gathering new information that may help solve them. For many of these cases, there is very little information, so investigators are relying solely on the public’s tips.
