HOUSTON—A trial is under way for an Army recruiter accused of sexually assaulting the sister of one of his recruit candidates.
According to court documents, Phillip McAuley showed up unannounced at the candidate’s home in the 17600 block of Wayforest Dr. in August of 2009 to return some personal papers.
The candidate’s sister was home at the time.
She told police the McAuley asked to use the restroom, so she let him inside the home.
She said he then sexually assaulted her in one of the rooms, despite her pleas for him to stop.
The victim said she never invited his advances.
McAuley could face up to 20 years in prison if convicted.
