HOUSTON -- It’s been six months since someone struck and killed Lauren Wallace at the East Freeway and Normandy, and police are still looking for a suspect.

Wallace, 19, was hit sometime between 2 a.m. and 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, September 5.

Her body was found in the grass near the an inbound freeway entrance ramp at 7 a.m. that same day.

Police believe the car that struck Wallace was a 2003-2005 dark-colored Toyota Camry.

The car would have front-end damage on the passenger side.

Family and friends were planning a memorial for Wallace on Saturday, March 5, at 1 p.m.

They said they will meet at San Jacinto Cemetery to distribute Crime Stoppers flyers and release balloons in remembrance of Wallace.

Anyone with information on the driver of the car is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-8477. Tips can also be submitted online at crime-stoppers.org or via text message – just text TIP 610 plus your info to 274637.

A cash reward of up to $5,000 is available for information leading to an arrest in the case.
