HOUSTON—Four suspects were in custody Wednesday, accusing of trying to use stolen credit cards at a Harris County gas station.
Precinct 6 deputies were called to the station, located in the 4300 block of Telephone Road, after the suspects tried to use the cards to purchase several items.
The suspects – identified as Luis Montemayor, 20; Manual Segovia, 23; Emmanuel Cano, 17; and Corrine Hopson, 18 -- were arrested at the scene.
Deputies said when they searched the suspects’ car, they found a purse, car stereo equipment and several tool sets that were taken in a number of car burglaries near the gas station.
The purse contained a driver’s license that matched the name on the credit cards, deputies said.
All four suspects were charged with credit card abuse, a state jail felony.
If convicted, they could face up to two years in jail and a fine of up to $10,000.
Deputies said the investigation was ongoing, and some of the items recovered from the suspects’ car have not been claimed.
The suspects may face additional charges.
