SUGAR LAND, Texas -- Sugar Land police are searching for a teen carjacking suspect who forced a car owner to drive him because he could not operate the vehicle.
It happened on May 26. The victim said he was fishing around 11:15 a.m. in the 14200 block of the Southwest Freeway near Sugar Creek Center when he was approached by a young man displaying a revolver.
According to police, the suspect demanded the victim's keys but could not operate a manual transmission. The suspect then ordered the victim to drive him to Stafford, where the suspect exited the vehicle near Wright Road and Kirkwood Drive.
The victim drove to a nearby gas station and flagged down a Stafford police officer.
The suspect was described as 16 to 17 years old, 5 feet 7 inches tall, with a thin build and short hair. He was wearing black pants, a red hoodie and blue latex gloves.
