HARRIS COUNTY—Deputies captured a suspected bank robber Monday, but they had to shoot out his tires first.
The suspect was arrested near Pebble Beach and Champion Park after a brief chase in northwest Harris County.
The security guard at the Chase Bank on Cypresswood thought he recognized the suspect from an earlier robbery so he alerted the Harris County Sheriff's Office.
Authorities believe the man was planning to rob the bank again, but got nervous and left, according to the FBI.
The FBI Houston Robbery Task Force is looking into the possibility that the suspect may have been involved in other area bank robberies.
For now, he is expected to be charged only with evading arrest.
