HEBRONVILLE, Texas -- Texas troopers busted a Galveston man Friday who was allegedly driving a truck packed full of pot.

Jason Jerard Hambric, 34, was charged with possession of marijuana and booked into the Jim Hogg County Jail.

DPS troopers stopped Hambric on Highway 59 near Hebbronville.

They found 3,212 pounds of pot hidden in the truck that was painted to look like it belonged to an oil field service company.

The marijuana has an estimated street value of $1.6 million.

DPS officers were assisted by the U.S. Border Patrol and the Jim Hogg County Sheriff's Office.
