PEARLAND, Texas -- Pearland police were on a wild chase Thursday morning after four suspects tried to steal an ATM from a CVS store located at 11600 Shadow Creek Parkway.
Joseph Lewis, a customer, was shocked after seeing the front of the CVS.
"It's all beat up and stuff," Lewis said.
The attempted smash-and-grab happened around 3 a.m. on Thursday.
Police said four men drove their green Ford pickup truck into the store. They tried to take the ATM out of the store, but it was locked in so good they couldn't get a single dollar.
Police chased the suspects for nearly 20 miles. Dash cam video shows them clocking over a 100 mph.
"We chased them into Houston, north on 59, over off to 610," said Lt. Onesimo Lopez with the Pearland Police Department.
Officers could be heard yelling in dash cam video, "drop your weapon."
The chase came to an end in the 4600 block of Shreveport Boulevard. The driver bailed out of the truck and crashed it. Officers caught up with March Duane Jordan.
"The officer had to run along the ditch line, yelling at him and giving him verbal commands," Lopez said.
Back at the CVS, customers were wondering why they were greeted by a household door.
"I thought they were remodeling because a lot of the cosmetic area was taken away," said Lawrence Coleman.
Police are still looking for the three other suspects.
