LA PORTE, Texas – A 22-year-old man is accused of sharing several videos and images of child pornography from his home in La Porte.
Bret Lee Gardner has been charged with promotion of child pornography, a felony.
According to court documents, on January 2, an officer with the La Porte Police Department logged onto a computer network known for sharing files.
The officer browsed the shared files section and located a user – later identified as Gardner - in the La Porte area who was offering a massive variety of child pornography videos and images.
Police said the officer downloaded a file and watched the video, which showed an underage boy and girl participating in a number of sex acts.
On January 29, that same officer went back to the site and located several more videos and pictures being shared by the user depicting underage children having sex.
The officer located the user’s IP Address and learned he had been sharing the illegal files since November 22.
He was able to track IP Address to a home in the 10200 block of North H Street in La Porte.
Police visited the home and searched Gardner’s computer. They found numerous videos and images of child pornography.
On February 3, authorities interviewed Gardner, who admitted he’d been downloading child pornography since the age of 13.
His bail was set at $100,000.
