Police release sketch of suspect in fatal shooting on Imperial Valley

HOUSTON -- Police have released the sketch of a man wanted in a fatal shooting that took place in north Houston the afternoon of Aug. 16.

The suspect is wanted in the killing of Marcus Williams, 36.

Homicide detectives with the Houston Police Department said Williams was home with his brother in the 17000 block of Imperial Valley when someone knocked at the door. When the residents answered the door, the gunman entered and ordered everyone to the ground.

When Williams struggled with the suspect, several shots were fired and he was fatally wounded. The suspect then fled the scene on foot.

He was described as a black male in his late 20s to early 30s, about 6 feet 2 inches tall with a heavy build and short hair. He had a Louisiana accent and a scar by one of his eyes or on one of his cheeks, witnesses said. They also told police the suspect squinted his eyes a lot.

Police believe robbery was the motive for the crime.
