HOUSTON – Normal traffic flow has resumed at Beltway 8 South near Almeda after an underground gas leak was repaired in the area, Houston Fire Department officials said.
A construction crew hit a gas line just after 10 a.m. Wednesday and traffic in both directions was closed to traffic. Motorists had been diverted along the feeder road to side streets.
The Houston Fire Department Hazmat Unit and Entex responded to the scene and said everything was under control.
No shelter-in-place or evacuation instructions were ever ordered.
