HOUSTON -- Driving on I-10 this weekend? Going to San Antonio or Austin? Watch out for a total closure of the freeway in the Katy Area.
I-10 at SH-99 (Grand Parkway) will be closed in both directions from Friday at 9 p.m. until Monday at 5 a.m. All traffic will be detoured to the freeway feeder lanes, so you can expect major delays.
Additionally, the Mason Road Eastbound entrance and exit ramps will be closed during the same time period -- detours will be posted.
This closure is to allow TxDOT crews to continue work on the I-10/SH-99 interchange, which is scheduled for completion by Fall 2013.
